Divya's Story
When Divya came to me, she was dealing with deep fatigue and a lot of pain in her body. Her neck, shoulders and lower back were completely sore, and it was taking a toll on her life. She told me she hurt herself 5 months ago playing with her daughter, but the pain was sort of gone for a while, and then suddenly it came raging back. I didn’t find anything wrong with her tissues or joints but all the symptoms pointed to chronic pain.
We started a program for graded exercise exposure and targeted yoga asanas. The pranayamas and meditation started to get her sleep cycle back and manage daily life stress. We discussed in detail about pain neuroscience and how our understanding about the problem can help us deal with it better. After a couple of weeks of religiously following the program, not only did her pains completely go away, but her sleep was better, her energy levels were higher and her digestive system was normal.
